Ifö Sanitär AB keramikos gamybą pradėjo 1887 metais. Todėl Ifö drąsiai galima vadinti pionieriumi vonios įrangos gamyboje Šiaurės Europoje. Ir vienas iš pagrindinių sėkmės „variklių“ – inovatyvumas vandens taupymo srityje. Nuo pat gamybos pradžios kuriant naujas produktų serijas buvo stengiamasi vartotojams pasiūlyti produktus, kuriuos naudojant būtų taupomas vanduo, o taupant vandenį sumažėtų nuotekų, kurias reikia valyti ir perdirbti. Tarp vonios kambario įrangos produktų svarbią vietą šiuo aspektu užima būtent unitazas. Ir šiandien daugelis gamintojų deklaruoja, kad jų pagaminti unitazai yra ekonomiški, t.y. taupantys vandenį. Tačiau ekonominis arba nuleidžiamo vandens kiekį reguliuojantis mechanizmas, sumontuotas unitaze, nėra vienintelis dalykas padedantis taupyti. Šiai dienai Ifö pristato naujos kartos unitazų serijas: Ifö Sign ir Ifö Sign Art. Šiuose unitazuose vandens nuleidimas gamykloje nustatytas 2/4 litrai. Kai tuo tarpu daugelis kitų gamintojų siūlo 3/6 l.
Be vandens taupančio mechanizmo yra ir kitų sprendimų, apie kuriuos daugelis naudotojų net nesusimąsto rinkdamiesi unitazą, bet labai vertina juo naudodamiesi.
Ifö Sign/ Ifö Sign WC unitazai turi vientisą bakelį (paprastai bakelis būna sudarytas iš dviejų dalių) ir be to, jis yra dvigubas – viduje plastikinis, išorėje keramikinis. Ifö Sign/ Ifö Sign Art unitazuose yra sumontuotas naujos kartos vandens nuleidimo mechanizmas, kuris yra atsparus kalkėms. Visos judančios mechanizmo dalys yra arba vandenyje, arba virš jo. Todėl naudojantis unitazu nėra veikimo sutrikimų.

Ši priemonė nuleidžiant vandenį patenka tiesiai į unitazo puodą, todėl nėra grėsmės, kad bus pažeistas vandens nuleidimo mechanizmas, ji naudojama taupiai ir nereikia ant unitazo puodo krašto kabinti jokių muiliukų ar dezodorantų, kurių laikikliai kaupia nešvarumus bei trukdo efektyviai ir taupiai apiplauti unitazą.
